CHRIS KANARICK
PRINCIPAL & FOUNDER
Chris Kanarick has been working in publicity for nearly two decades, most recently as a Director in the Talent Department at ID, as well as on the agency's Brand and Events team overseeing red carpets and other initiatives for several high-profile events.
Kanarick has overseen Oscar campaigns for performers such as Richard Jenkins, Tony Award campaigns for Leslie Odom, Jr., Cynthia Erivo, Andy Karl, and David Hyde Pierce, and multiple Emmy campaigns for actors such as John Slattery, who earned four consecutive nominations for his role on the hit series, Mad Men.
Kanarick was also an integral part of publicity campaigns for then up and coming stars such as Jon Bernthal, Jason Clarke, and Steven Yeun, while also representing established talents such as Patrick Stewart, Eric Idle, Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Simon Helberg, and Tony Award-winning director, Julie Taymor, among many others.
Kanarick worked on multiple New York-based events over the years, having taken the lead on red carpets for such high-profile launches as the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection, the opening of both Hermès Men's and Wall Street stores, and the flagship Armani Fifth Avenue store, as well as events for DKNY, the SAG Foundation, and The 24-Hour Plays for Urban Arts Partnership.
Kanarick began his publicity career in 2001 as an Executive Assistant at ID. After almost three years in personal publicity, he took a position at Miramax Films as a Manager of Publicity where he was at the forefront of campaigns for such films as Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill and Martin Scorsese's The Aviator. He later joined Leslee Dart as she started her new venture, then called The Dart Group, now 42 West. In September 2005, Kanarick returned to ID as a publicist, where he remained until October 2018.
In 2019, Kanarick launched PEAK PUBLICITY, with an eye towards recreating a classic boutique agency feel with an emphasis on personalized client attention. He has since worked on campaigns for such theatre artists as John Behlmann (Broadway’s Tootsie), Sergio Trujillo, Will Van Dyke, and Andrew Polec (Bat Out of Hell: The Musical.) He currently represents the Lucille Lortel Theater Foundation and the Lucille Lortel Awards, which recognize excellence in New York's Off-Broadway theatre community. This year marked his eighth booking hosts, presenters, and all press for the annual awards show, which over that time has grown into one of the first official stops on the Tony Awards campaign trail.
